Letter to Professor Ernest Koliqi – 1949

This letter was written to Prof. Ernest Koliqi from a source, Mario, informing him that the son of Prince Gjon Markagjoni had escaped from the internment camp in Tepelene (1949) and made it to Jugoslavia safely.

Here is the news for the Prince.

Nikoll Gjon Markaj is alive and well in Jugoslavia.

He escaped from the internment camp in Tepelene with eight friends
and from there went to Tirana where he stayed five days then on to Dibra,
from there into Jugoslavia.

This happened in July 1949.
