This telegram was sent by King Zog I of Albania, in exile in Alexandria, Egypt, on 23 March, 1955 to Kapidan Gjon Markagjoni in exile in Rome.
Through the years these two important Albanian personalities forged a warm bond in dealing with social issues in Mirdita.
It is evident by the warm response of the King to Kapidan Gjon Markagjoni that this affection endured through their respective exiles, a bond that transcended any political disagreement and united them in their goal, which was to see Albania free again.
