Rome, 9 August 1952
BARDHOK SHKURTI from Prizren (Yugoslavia) on 2-8-52 writes to Prince Gjon Marka Gjoni:
“It’s been a long time since I wrote to you nor received letters from you and I’m worried about your health.
If you want to ask me about the situation in our country, it is better not to ask since all the fugitives have been killed and the prisons are full of our trusted men whose names will follow in another letter of mine.
For your nephew Bib Marka Biba, I have my deepest condolences upon learning that he was killed. It seems to me that he was betrayed, and by whom, I will write to you later.
I am sorry that I cannot write at greater length as I have been seriously injured and am very ill. Read the letter written to Mr. Gjeta in which I have explained everything at length.
Tell Kapidan Ndue (son of the Prince) that I will write him a fairly extensive report with information about the situation in our country and for now he should excuse me as I am very ill.
In the meantime, praying for an answer
You friend forever
Signed
Bardhok Shkurti
